Gattaca

If you had the opportunity to recreate yourself by using blood samples, and hair follicles would you?
In the movie, "Gattaca" Jerome Morrow who is played by, Jude Law sure proved that the process of genetically recreating yourself is possible. Jermone was an all-star swimming who had an accident that cost him the use of his legs. Vincent Freeman, who is played by Ethan Hawke, is a man who has heart problems, high chances of mental illness, and has a life expectancy of 30 years. Due to discrimination and prejudice, Vincent was not able to achieve his dreams of becoming an astronaunt. This results in Vincent receiving blood samples, DNA, hair follicles and all the possible genetic material of Jermone. Throughout the movie, investigators are trying to solve the mystery to who murdered the mssion's director at Vincent/Jermone's job. Paranoid of being revealed, Vincent trys to quit and give up being Jermone. The story behind Vincent is, his parents wanted to have another child. After finding out that their only son had all these problems, they wanted to create a child that had their desired traits and qualities, and most importantly; the health that they wanted for their child. Vincent and his man made brother, Anton would play the game of chicken in the ocean to see who could swim out the farthest. That scene within the movie represents, the womb of the two brothers who are separated from eachother. The water of course representing the womb. My personal beliefs are, to accept what you have been blessed with. Yes, in reality we would all love to change the simple things about yourself but we must remember, we are the way we are for a reason

I give this movie 3 stars
